After I open the bottom door and wait a few seconds then open the top, smoke blows out the bottom of the stove. I have had my stoves for three months and this is the first time that it has done it. It is like a gust of air comes out the bottom. Please help if you can.
Answer
Rosemary,
I think I need more information about your stove to answer your question. Is it a top loading stove or does it load from the front or side? When you say the bottom, are you talking about the ash removal door?
Generally speaking, on a normal wood stove that has a front or side door, you should adjust the air regulator (damper) so that it is fully open, then slowly open the door and it will continue to draft up the chimney while you load it without any problems.
Please use the comment option to elaborate more on your question and I'll do my best to answer is for you.
All the best,
Firewood Matt
